Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronomy 31:6
Introducing Zoa Liffrig
Zoe Liffrig is the Administrative Assistant at Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Homes. Zoanni was born and raised the youngest of five girls and one brother in Williston, North Dakota. She is a graduate of Williston High School and attended two years of higher education at UND Williston.
On August 22, 1981, Zoe married John Liffrig. John is in Real Estate and Development. Together they have two children. Their son, Tyler Liffrig is a Financial Advisor and is married to Jacque, a Nurse Practitioner. They live in Bismarck, ND and have three children, Lexa, Brynn and Gavin. Their daughter, Terra Erickson is a secretary for Regency Energy Services who lives in Williston, ND and has three children: Zachary, Addy and Gabby.
Zoanni has been in the funeral business since July 1997. Zoe worked at the Everson Funeral Home for 20 years and for the Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home for the past six years. She’s come a very long way from her first day in the funeral business when she said, “No Way — I can’t do this job, it’s not for me” ’till today when she often says, “This is the most rewarding job I will ever have in my lifetime”. She enjoys meeting with families and strives to design each Memorial Package to represent and remember their loved one. The following year, she sends every family we have served, an Anniversary Card letting them know we are also remembering their loved one and family at this special time.
Zoe’s hobbies include organizing, playing pinochle, baking, gardening, canning, entertaining, watching the Minnesota Twins, Women On The Water Fishing Tournament, and Traveling to Sandals Resorts for “Rest and Relaxation.”
Since decorating is also a passion of hers, she has been asked to decorate the Stanley, Tioga, Sidney, Williston Funeral Homes, and Williston’s New Hospitality Room. Soon she’ll Watford City’s new look. Decorating her window wells and their home for the Holidays is a must and she enjoys finishing one project and quickly starting another.
Spending time with her family and grandchildren is a top priority. Zoanni and John spend weekends at their cabin at Pouch Point South of Newtown enjoying all the water activities — and the many other outdoor activities that make summer fun! Of course, you can’t have fun without fishing, campfires, s’mores and go carts.
Fall brings on the hockey season. John and Zoe enjoy following and traveling with the NCAA Sioux Hockey College team from Grand Forks. What makes those games extra special is that Tyler refs many of those games in Grand Forks during the season and has been selected to referee tournament games in Minnesota, New York, Boston and Florida.
We are looking forward to spending Christmas on a Disney Cruise with our family this year.
Zoe appreciates the co-workers she works with every day. Zoe feels blessed for all of the close family bonds and deep friendships she has cultivated over the years.
Below is a short photo album that gives you a little better look at Zoanni Liffrig and her family.
Below are just a very few examples of the different cards Zoe sends on the anniversary of a loved one’s passing. When she began sending these, it was just one every now and then. So many people let her know how much they appreciated her thoughtfulness that today she sends such cards to everyone she has had the pleasure of serving.

Please take a few moments to join many in remembering Bill and the great lengths taken to make his final celebration a truly memorable one.

SCAM Warning
We are so very sorry that we are compelled to enter the following into our uplifting newsletter, but we believe our obligations to the many communities we serve demand that we post this notice. We have been alerted that scammers are targeting people who have recently experienced the tragedy of a family member’s death. The scammers contact the family member(s) and state that the final funeral payments are due immediately. The scammers claim to work for the funeral home that was mentioned in the mandatory newspaper obituary notifications. They tell the family member(s) that the additional amount must be paid immediately to avoid legal action and/or collection agencies. The amounts vary, with the highest amount known so far being $1,000.00. DO NOT CLICK ANY LINKS provided on your computer or smart phone. The scammers will tell you that the link is the fastest and/or easiest ‘fix.’ We are unable to speak for all funeral homes, but none of the Stevenson & Sons family of funeral homes and crematories will handle matters of billing in the discourteous, unprofessional manner mentioned above. If you have any questions about your invoice, please contact us by our published phone number and we will gladly discuss and concerns you may have.

Grief Support
Many people do not have the time to locate a proper grief counselor. Others do not live in an area where there are any grief counselors available. And finally, many people are not prepared to pay a professional for grief counseling. Fortunately, the internet provides some solutions for those who wish to seek grief counseling or to interact with groups of people who are also coping with grief. Many such services exist, as do professional counselors who will assist people privately on line, hence eliminating the need for travel. Not all services are the same, nor are all chat rooms/groups. You should research what you are interested in and follow-up on the leads you believe will be most helpful to your personal situation until you locate exactly what works best for you. In your search engine look for terms like “grief chat rooms” “bereavement support groups” “professional grief counseling” or “grief management.” Good research is the path to successfully linking up with what, or who, will work the best for you. Another option would be to start your search at the Mental Health American website. Lots of information, and many places to research groups, centers and more.
