Bible Verse of the Month

For God so loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him
should not perish,
but have everlasting life.
John 3:16

A Well-Earned Final Celebration

The staff of Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home in Helena, Montana recently created a beautiful, moving final celebration of life. The celebration was for Will A. Carrell, a member of our country’s military. The brief video of the celebration, which is below, was created by Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home staff member Dallas Davis. We hope you enjoy this beautiful tribute to a member of our military.

Introducing Kurt Baade – Funeral Director at Fulkerson-Stevenson Funeral Home

Kurt was born in Livonia, MI and grew up in Martinsville, IN. He attended Vincennes University studying culinary arts before deciding to change gears and attend mortuary school. He graduated from Mid-America College of Funeral Service in Jeffersonville, IN in 1989. Upon graduation, he spent 25 years serving families in Palm Beach County Florida. After a vacation in Alaska, he realized that the beckoning mountains of the Alaska Range were calling him. He accepted a position with a firm in Anchorage, AK and worked for the “Mushing Mortician” for five years. He now calls Williston home along with his 3 Alaskan Sled-dogs: Maya, Abby, Frayja. Kurt recently added to his pack with Oakley, an adopted German Shepard puppy.

In his “spare” time, Kurt enjoys bowling, spending time with his girls, and he has become quite good at woodworking. He has crafted numerous items at several of the Stevenson & Sons funeral homes. He has made his own kitchen table, his bed, an urn for his Rottweiler Dozer and many other things. But he mostly enjoys making barn replicas for friends and co-workers based on their own barns.

Below, we’ve created an album featuring Kurt. We hope the album gives everyone more insight into Kurt’s exemplary character and wonderful lifestyle.

We Pride Ourselves on the Quality of Our Services

All of the staff members, throughout the many Stevenson & Sons Funeral Homes, take great pride in offering service and support that go beyond the expectations of those we are privileged to serve. Many of those we’ve had an opportunity to serve take time to let us know that we made a very difficult time in their lives, a little easier. The following messages were sent to the Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Staff.

Financial Assistance

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought overwhelming grief to many families. At FEMA, our mission is to help people before, during and after disasters. We are dedicated to helping ease some of the financial stress and burden caused by the virus.

Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA is providing financial assistance for COVID-19 related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020…

If you lost a loved one due to Covid-19, you may qualify for financial assistance for your family’s funeral expenses. Click here to find out more information.

Grief Support

Many people do not have the time to locate a proper grief counselor. Others do not live in an area where there are any grief counselors available. And finally, many people are not prepared to pay a professional for grief counseling. Fortunately, the internet provides some solutions for those who wish to seek grief counseling or to interact with groups of people who are also coping with grief. Many such services exist, as do professional counselors who will assist people privately on line, hence eliminating the need for travel. Not all services are the same, nor are all chat rooms/groups. You should research what you are interested in and follow-up on the leads you believe will be most helpful to your personal situation until you locate exactly what works best for you. In your search engine look for terms like “grief chat rooms” “bereavement support groups” “professional grief counseling” or “grief management.” Good research is the path to successfully linking up with what, or who, will work the best for you. Another option would be to start your search at the Mental Health American website. Lots of information, and many places to research groups, centers and more.
