Bible Verse of the Month
And he said unto me,
My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my strength is made perfect in weakness.
Most gladly therefore
will I rather glory in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
2 Corinthians 12:9
The Holidays
For most of us, the holidays bring great happiness and joy – along with many good times and the making of new memories. Sadly, for many, the holidays carry with them some unhappy memories. We all know the pain of these unpleasant memories fades, but let’s all just stop everything and offer up a moment of silence, caring and remembrance for those who have cause to allow their joy to be lessened by a past event.
Meet Bronwin Hanshew – Funeral Director at Bell Mortuary
Bronwin was raised in the farming and ranching community surrounding Harrisburg, Nebraska. She graduated from Banner County High School in Harrisburg and then went on to Eastern
Wyoming College in Torrington, Wyoming, where she graduated with honors with an Associate of Applied Science Degree. Bronwin was working on a degree in Psychology at the University of Wyoming when she decided to take a break from school and married Ronald “Jamie” Hanshew. The couple moved to the Sandhills of Nebraska, where Jamie’s love for the outdoors led him into ranching and Bronwin into using her restraint management skills. They returned to Western Nebraska and in 2007, Bronwin was offered a job with a local funeral home. She found the work a good fit and very rewarding: helping people during a difficult time in their lives. She received her degree in Mortuary Science form Des Moines Area Community College, Des Moines, Iowa in 2009 and her Nebraska Embalmer/Funeral Director license in February 2010. Bronwin joined the team at Bell Mortuary in March of 2015 and has found the rural setting of Glasgow very much like her original home. Bronwin enjoys cooking, photography, crafting, gardening and spending time with her family in their many shared activities. She and Jamie have two boys, Bryce and Jaydeen. They are active in 4-H, sports, hunting, fishing and taking care of numerous animals. Bronwin is a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Montana Funeral Director Association, FMDH Foundation Board, Valley County Health Department Board, LEPC Board and Valley County 4-H Council.

I was very happy with ALL services I received since my loved one was in MT and I live in NC. Everything was handled by phone/email. Scott kept me informed on each step taken. If I had a question he was right there to make sure my request was answered. I would recommend ASW Funeral home to anyone near or far. Very understanding/considerate/friendly and will be there for you from start to finish by taking very good care of your Love One.
Nothing brings on a greater feeling than hearing the kind words of loved ones. The entire staff reads and re-reads letters, like the one above, to reaffirm the reasons they work so hard to make every single detail of every event flawless.
Grief Support
Many people do not have the time to locate a proper grief counselor. Others do not live in an area where there are any grief counselors available. And finally, many people are not prepared to pay a professional for grief counseling. Fortunately, the internet provides some solutions for those who wish to seek grief counseling or to interact with groups of people who are also coping with grief. Many such services exist, as do professional counselors who will assist people privately on line, hence eliminating the need for travel. Not all services are the same, nor are all chat rooms/groups. You should research what you are interested in and follow-up on the leads you believe will be most helpful to your personal situation until you locate exactly what works best for you. In your search engine look for terms like “grief chat rooms” “bereavement support groups” “professional grief counseling” or “grief management.” Good research is the path to successfully linking up with what, or who, will work the best for you. Another option would be to start your search at the Mental Health American website. Lots of information, and many places to research groups, centers and more.
