One of Our Favorite Grief Support Resources

Everyone can use a supporting influence occasionally. We like this one for many reasons, including the fact that it’s utterly private and accessible to you 24/7/365: Ask Doctor Neimeyer. Click Here to visit his secured site. Try it, it might be something you’ve been looking for.

Arriving at a First Priority

When members of the communities we serve entrust us with the final arrangements for their loved ones, we are met with myriad issues. To name but a few: there are timetables to consider, availability of various facilities and individuals including speakers, guests and members of the clergy. There are also a number of laws that must be obliged. The wishes of all family members, as well as close friends and neighbors, are also taken into account. Even the weather must be considered for many, if not most, final services. And everything that’s done requires its own correctly completed and filed paperwork. Finally, we are compelled to always remember that we are an enterprise with many expenses, each one of which expands greatly when we care for a deceased loved one. So many elements. Elements that regularly shift in weight. In some cases the weather must take front and center, while the sometimes conflicting wishes of parents or spouses or siblings are of primary consideration. So, what’s most important? We made that decision many decades ago. What’s most important is that we treat every loved one placed in our care with the utmost dignity and respect. We have found that by following that first priority, everything else becomes easier for all concerned.
